Dr. Erinn Matenchuk, DVM
Dr. Matenchuk was born in Edmonton, Alberta. She has a great love and respect for all creatures and takes pride in offering a high standard of patient care, and building relationships with clients. She has been practicing small animal veterinary medicine in the St. Albert and Morinville area since 2007. Dr. Matenchuk has been passionate about helping animals her whole life. Even as a young person, she would spend her free time volunteering to help animals in a clinic setting. Dr. Matenchuk is living her lifelong dream of owning a small town vet clinic and residing in the country with her Husband and two Kids. Away from work Dr. M has her own pack of furry friends that includes: Galway (dog), Pea's (cat), Allie & Aurora (Horses). Whether it is at home or in clinic Dr. M is devoted to offering the highest standard of care to animals.
Dr. Birgit Wunsch, DVM
Dr. Birgit Wunsch graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. She grew up in St. Albert and is happy to be part of the team at Animal Wellness Veterinary Clinic. She enjoys general medicine, routine soft tissue surgery and routine dentistry in cats and dogs. Her favorite thing about being a vet is the ability to help clients understand their pet's conditions and treatments so they may make informed decisions about the care of their furry family members.
Over the years she has shared her home with many animals including gerbils, guinea pigs, budgies, cockatiels, horses, dogs, cats and even two or three chinchillas. They have taught her so much about the diverse and wonderful traits that our companion animals have. Veterinary medicine has taught her to keep an open mind when looking at cases and to never stop learning. There are always new medications, new technologies and new referral specialists to help treat the diverse problems we see in veterinary medicine. She looks forward to continuing to help the clients of Animal Wellness Veterinary Clinic to meet the needs of their extra special pets.

Registered Veterinary Technologist
Marj is a graduate of Fairview's Animal Health Technology program. Marj is passionate about pet reproduction, nutrition and training. On her free time Marj enjoys camping and fishing with her husband, children, and her dogs Atlas, Sunny, and Brazeau, as well as hanging out at home with her cats Cuddlebug, Shindara, and Gimli.
Penny
Registered Veterinary Technologist
Penny is a graduate of NAIT's Animal Health Technology program. Penny is an advocate of the Fear Free handling techniques, and is passionate about surgery and dentistry. Penny enjoys acreage living with her husband, Chris and her dogs Hera, Bacchus , Cassie, and Vesta, and her cat, Tyche.
Monika
Administrative Assistant
Monika has over 20 years of experience in client care and 5 in an administrative and professional social media content capacity. Monika enjoys photography, a good book, chauffeuring and cheering on her daughters at dance festivals and competitions, but most of all loves snuggling up at home with her husband, dog, and two cats.
Kourtney
Veterinary Assistant
Kourtney is new to Vet Med but has risen to the challenges that this industry brings. She is an amazing addition to our clinic and enjoys creating amazing works of art, cultivating plants with her spectacular green thumb, and spending time with friends and her two young children.
Reice
Veterinary Assistant

Reice is a recent graduate of the Veterinary Assistant Program at Reeves Collage. She has fit in to the clinic culture seamlessly and enjoys hiking and being outdoors with her Fiancé and dog, Luna. When inside, she loves snuggling on the couch with her cat, Ichabod.
Meaghan
Certified Groomer/ Veterinary Assistant
Meaghan is an award-winning, certified groomer. Meaghan has been working her magic and making dogs look and feel fabulous for 16 years. Meaghan also enjoys working on her competition dogs, riding horses, and spending time with her adorable daughter.
